We are looking for a Digital PR Specialist in Vancouver

We are looking for a high energy, highly adaptable and outgoing personality to project manage, plan and execute a variety of public relations client accounts at Magnolia. This individual is results-driven, self-directed with a proactive approach towards work and is a go-getter. The ideal candidate should have previous PR experience in North America, be highly task oriented, able to juggle tasks coming their way and run with it effectively. They can also be described as a team player with a strong ability to communicate clearly on all tasks and expectations, particularly in the case of short deadlines.

As a PR professional with experience in media relations, you have a passion for finding a good story, pitching it and chasing new opportunities. Building media relationships is a must. This person will bring creativity and deliver results as they work with our clients on multiple accounts. The ideal candidate lives and breathes B2B discussions and is not afraid to use their leadership skills to take their accounts to a new level of excellence.

Responsibilities of the Digital PR Specialist

You will be client facing, engaging directly with clients on a day-to-day basis to ensure excellent service is being provided
Daily media monitoring of local, national, and international news and trends pertinent to specific clients’ businesses and to secure media opportunities for clients
- Research editorial opportunities for clients, as well as stats and evidence supporting press releases and pitch ideas, articles related to key client topics, reporter bios and publication background, etc.
- Brainstorm and devise news angles and campaign ideas to grab media interest
Compile media lists and editorial calendars as needed
Create media briefing documents with detailed and insightful notes to prepare clients for interview appointments
Write relevant and compelling press releases, byline articles, and media pitches with strong strong hooks
Responsible for the maintenance of existing/new subcontractor relations supporting the account

Our Ideal Candidate

Experience and Knowledge

At least 4 years’ experience in marketing, agency experience an asset
Well-versed in Canadian media and PR practices
Experience in B2B marketing is an asset
Experience in managing team members with a variety of skill sets and experience

Deep understanding of marketing strategies and their alignment with business objectives
Exceptional listening and communication skills are essential
Strong presentation abilities, characterized by a calm and professional demeanor
Effective listening skills to understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and foster strong relationships

Competence in high-pressure situations, including managing challenging conversations
